The Sunbury Charter Amendment will be decided by Sunbury voters, and one of the best ways to help residents understand what is on the ballot is simple: have conversations.

We are looking for volunteers willing to help with community outreach, including going door-to-door in Sunbury to share information about the Charter Amendment and direct residents to resources where they can read the amendment for themselves.

You Don't Have to Be an Expert

If you've never knocked on doors before, that's okay.

We'll provide volunteers with the information they need, including talking points, frequently asked questions, copies of the amendment or informational materials, and guidance about what to do when you don't know the answer to a question.

The goal isn't to argue with anyone. It's to meet our neighbors, share accurate information, answer questions when we can, and help people know where they can learn more.

Volunteer for an Hour—or an Afternoon

You don't need to make a huge time commitment. Even an hour spent walking a neighborhood can help us reach residents who may not know there is a Charter Amendment on the November ballot.

Volunteer opportunities can include:

  • Door-to-door outreach

  • Distributing informational materials

  • Helping at community events

  • Helping organize volunteers

Whether you can give us one hour or become a regular volunteer, there's a way to get involved.

Bring a Friend

Door knocking is also more fun with someone else. Grab a friend, neighbor, spouse or family member and walk a neighborhood together.

We'll help you get started.

Why Get Involved?

Local decisions have a direct impact on our communities, but residents can't participate meaningfully if they don't know what's happening.

Whatever conclusion a voter ultimately reaches, we want Sunbury residents to have the opportunity to read the amendment, understand what it would do, ask questions and make an informed decision.

That's where volunteers can make a difference.

Ready to Help?

Sign up below and tell us how you'd like to get involved.

We'll contact you with upcoming volunteer opportunities and information about door-to-door outreach.
